Tenacious self-starter with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills holding 15+ years’ diverse experience in HR, organization development, legal and compliance. Application of skills/expertise in HR strategic issues, business planning, management, business partnerships and community engagements.  Have diversified experience of working in different industries in Pakistan including law, IT, HR Consultancy, training, Port & shipping.

She is a career-oriented woman with a focused vision, determination and can-do attitude. Started her career back in 2005 as an Assistant Manager in a  Public Limited Port and Shipping Company in Pakistan and was able to rise in her chosen field, before coming to US, was associated with Singapore Based Background Check Group as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) and was playing a role of strategic business partner.

A Role as an CEO

She Joined APNA Adult Day Care in 2016 and soon after that realized the need to establish a Community Center, with the support of Mr. Pervez Siddiqui-  Chairman of APNA and Shazia Wattoo, Apna Brooklyn Community Center was established in 2017.

Currently working as CEO of Apna Brooklyn Community Center and Director Strategy and Contracting at Apna Adult Day Care. She played a vital role in the development of Apna and have been able to mobilize the Brighton Beach  Community. The needs of the community which were not identified before Apna`s  establishment are now addressed in a better way. She is managing all operations of multiple locations of Apna.

As an Advocate

She is a community advocate who belief in representing the community as well as giving back to the community. With her clear vision and determination, she brought many needed services and programs for the Brighton Beach  Community in partnership with many city agencies, elected representatives and community-based organizations.

Brighton Beach and Coney Island are home to diverse communities of recent immigrants from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and several Central American countries Members of these communities often are not native English speakers and have difficulty navigating government social service systems. Apna helps bridge this gap, ensuring the communities we serve are able to navigate and benefit from the services that help them live safe, healthy, and fulfilled lives. Apna`s mission is to bridge this gap through community education, engagement and empowerment.
